This Web Site is dedicated to the family name of Meddemmen (Meddemman, Meddemen, Meddeman, Medemen, Medeman, to name but a few of the alternative spellings).
It is particularly dedicated to the memory of my Grandfather, Rifleman James Meddemmen, S/30627, 7th Bn., The Rifle Brigade, who died somewhere on the Somme in France, 21st March 1918. He was 32 years old. He left a wife and two daughters.
Like some 14,000 others in that one campaign he has no known grave but is commemorated on the Pozieres Memorial, Somme, France.
